5 Steps to a Spring Wardrobe Makeover

Spring is finally here and the look this season is all about gorgeous, feel good fashion that tells of endless sunshine and carefree days. Think ice cream hues, from delicate vanilla to pistachio, lilac and strawberry, flimsy transparent fabrics and, yes, the reinvention of the 80s bum bag as the more refined belt bag! But if your wardrobe is stuck in winter gloom, follow our 5 tips for a spring wardrobe makeover.

  1. Face the wardrobe

First things first, head to the bedroom and take an honest look at your wardrobe storage. Life coach and image consultant Stephanie Varda said: “We can so easily get stuck in a rut with our clothes and just mindlessly pluck clothes from the wardrobe without really seeing what’s there. Get everything out and organise the space so it’s a pleasure to look for something to wear rather than a chore.” Our  selection of Chrome Tube Hanging Rails are ideal for creating a hanging rail within a wardrobe for the ultimate in wardrobe organisation or for creating your own, bespoke walk-in wardrobe.

  1. The urban vibe

If your space is so minimalist that you don’t even have a wardrobe, go for a Chrome Wire Clothes Rack and make your clothes storage part of the aesthetic.  The rack comes with 4 storage boxes so is ideal if you have a lack of bedroom shelving or home shelving, and its sleek chrome is perfect for that urban living look.

  1. The clothes edit

Next, it’s time to edit the clothes you already have. Stephanie says: “Image is hugely important to your wellbeing. If you don’t feel great about how you look, it can make you feel stressed and stop you living your life fully.” Clear out anything in your wardrobe that doesn’t fit, or doesn’t make you feel good about yourself. Then invest in some bright hangers like our Matt Yellow Wooden Hanger with Trouser Bar and Shoulder Notches and place your clothes back into your newly organised wardrobe.

  1. Accessories please

A bedroom makeover wouldn’t be complete without a little attention to accessories, and as we know accessories are big news for spring summer 18!  If bedroom storage is at a premium in your pad, opt for a Chrome Accessory Hanger which has 6 hooks for keeping together those on trend belt bags and oversized totes. It can be hooked in your wardrobe or on the back of your door.

  1. The spring splurge

With the bedroom organisation well under way, you can finally think about investing in some new key pieces for the new season. Stephanie Varda urges us to think not only about trends but about buying for our style, body shape and lifestyle, saying: “There are always ways to make trends work for you. Take denim which is a key trend for spring, if you prefer a smarter look opt for more tailored denim, apple shapes should go for a mid-rise jean and if you don’t like jeans try a cute denim dress or jacket.”

Making your wardrobe ready for the new season needn’t be daunting. Get your storage set up, prune ruthlessly and select a few new pieces and your bedroom will soon be filled with all the joys of spring!
